At our very small business, we have found a solution that not only keeps costs down but also minimizes ecological waste. We understand the valid concerns with online shopping and wanted to be fully transparent.  Let's address the consumer questions as well as the ethical considerations.

Do you use real photos or AI?

Every style you see in the Paper Dolls collection are photographs of the real samples we designed.  From those real pieces, we've supplemented additional AI-rendered visuals to show various color, print, embellishment, and fit options. This not only saves time and resources but also provides customers with a more comprehensive view of the product.

Can I see the real samples in person?

You sure can!  We'd love for you to visit a Paper Dolls stockist to design your dream dress within the experience of a traditional bridal retail setting.  Support small businesses who can offer you a local, intimate service experience.

Why do we use AI?

As a very small business in an industry of corporate megabrands, our advantage has always been in trailblazing new solutions by listening to client requests.  That adaptability helps, but simply put, this technology is empowering our creativity to endure, just as it helps define your vision.  

In an industry where polyester is the most common material, sustainability is also a problem past due to address. By utilizing AI to create alternate views of our products, we can reduce the need for multiple photoshoots, samples, and waste generation. This approach not only benefits our business but also contributes to a more eco-friendly way of showcasing our offerings. We recognize the ecological challenges of AI, however, and for now, this balance feels the most ethical.

The traditional gown industry practice is to have stores buy oppressive quantities of a huge collection of gowns, very few of which will ever become popular. This means our peer store owners are spending exorbitantly to fill landfills with those styles that fall flat. We want to try a different path.
