Paper Dolls Online Atelier is Renegade Bridal’s modular wedding-gown design system, created in Houston by Founding Designer Natalie Harris.
It begins with real gown components: bodices, skirts, sleeves, backs, fabrics, colors, and finishing details designed to work together. You get to try combinations, change your mind, save possibilities, and discover what feels right—without needing fashion-design training or beginning with the mildly terrifying blank page.
The dress shop was never the whole answer.
I’ve spent more than twenty years in bridal, watching people search for the dress and find something that was almost right. The neckline worked, but not the skirt. The silhouette felt like them, but the fabric didn’t. The details were beautiful, but they belonged on a different gown.
Traditional bridal retail asks you to choose from dresses that were completed before you ever entered the room. Paper Dolls began with a different question: What if the gown didn’t have to be finished before you arrived?
Real pieces. Real construction. Considerably more play.
Paper Dolls is not an AI-generated imaginary dress. Every option begins with real patterns, real construction knowledge, and physical gown component pieces designed to work together, as separates or system to design a full gown.
You choose the direction. We take over the technical nerdery, the quality control rooted in expertise, the invisible work that ensures your vision.
Built in Houston. Introduced to the bridal trade in 2024.
I first presented Paper Dolls to a wholesale bridal audience in 2024 and began building relationships with boutiques and industry professionals. The Online Atelier brings that same modular design system directly to the person who will actually wear the dress.
It’s part design studio, part fitting-room experimentation, and part dress-up drawer for adults.

I’m Natalie, the Founding Designer behind Renegade Bridal and Paper Dolls.
Paper Dolls grew out of a three-year technical rabbit hole: developing the component system, testing how the pieces could combine, and building an online experience that makes custom design feel inviting instead of intimidating. Somewhere in there, the part of my millennial brain that once coded a MySpace page apparently reactivated.
The goal was never limitless choice. Limitless choice is exhausting. Paper Dolls is guided choice: enough freedom to make the gown distinctly yours, with the structure and technical judgment to keep the process coherent, but safely out of what we lovingly call "factory roulette". You know, that fun game where you hope the people an ocean away care about your wedding as much as you do. The game they're playing entirely differently, knowing the odds are stacked against you, leaving all the room in the world for their cheapest translation, and never to a bride's benefit.
Who the hell do we think we are?
Paper Dolls Online Atelier is designed and operated by Renegade Bridal, an independent bridal design company founded by Natalie Harris in Houston, Texas. We're a (micro!) small business comprised of neurodivergent women aiming to celebrate love and authenticity. We are not a mega-corporation with equity stakeholders. Just a handful of humans who give a damn about the symbolism of your wedding ceremony, committed to seeing women showing up fully and unapologetically, especially when committing to your forever.
The gowns are not imaginary. They're our toolkit to empower your imagination.
